Sergeant Naomi Lihavi serves as a journalist and camerawoman under the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia, documenting the experiences of peacekeepers in Sector 2. She uses photography, videography, and storytelling to highlight the work and sacrifices of personnel operating in Somalia. Sgt Lihavi joined the Kenya Defence Forces in 2021, turning a lifelong passion for cinema and storytelling into a professional career in military media operations. She said her love of watching movies and writing stories inspired her to pursue journalism and later join the KDF as a media practitioner to tell unique military stories.
