Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has admitted that his entertaining team needs to tighten up defensively after a high-scoring start to the season. The Blues are the joint-top scorers in the Premier League with eight goals in three matches but have also conceded seven. Their rollercoaster form continued in the League Cup, where they came from 2-0 down against Leeds to win 6-3. Alonso, in his first season as Chelsea boss, said the team is a work in progress and aims to retain its attacking edge while strengthening the defence.
