The death toll from suspected consumption of adulterated herbal drinks in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State has continued to rise, with over 30 people dead and over 50 others hospitalized. A male seller of the toxic drink has been arrested and handed over to the police in Akure. The Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Adegoroye Taiwo, confirmed the arrest and said investigation into the source of the substance is ongoing. NAFDAC and WHO have joined the investigation, and a survivor narrated their ordeal.
