The Niger Delta Patriotic Front (NDPF) has criticized the Federal Government for failing to address ocean surge that has affected over 150 coastal communities in the Niger Delta. The group listed communities in Bayelsa, Delta, and Ondo States that have lost significant land to the ocean surge. The NDPF also demanded an alternative presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that successive administrations have abandoned the region since independence.
