A prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Musa Lukuwa, was stabbed in Sokoto metropolis on Friday shortly after leading Jumu'at prayer. The attack reportedly followed an allegation of blasphemous remarks attributed to the cleric concerning the biological parents of Prophet Muhammad. Sheikh Lukuwa was rushed to a hospital for medical attention, while his followers reportedly killed the alleged attacker, leading to heightened tension in the area.
