C’River govt bans street trading at 8-miles area

The Cross River State Government has banned street trading around the Eight-Miles area of Calabar metropolis. The Commissioner for Environment, Mr Bassey Mensah, announced the ban during an inspection tour, urging traders illegally occupying pedestrian walkways to relocate to designated markets. He was accompanied by the Chairman of Calabar Municipality, Mr James Anam, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Toll Collection, Mr Bassey Edet. Mensah ordered the immediate removal of tables, kiosks, and wheelbarrows from the area.
