ActionAid Nigeria has expressed concern over the confirmed outbreak of diphtheria in the Federal Capital Territory, which resulted in the deaths of two children. The Country Director, Dr Andrew Mamedu, described the deaths as a serious public health warning and called for a rapid response. He urged the government to intensify contact tracing, testing, vaccination, and surveillance, especially in affected communities and schools. Mamedu also advised parents to check their children's immunisation status.
