The Plateau State Government has directed the reopening of all public and private primary and secondary schools from Monday, September 14, 2026. The resumption follows the temporary closure of schools on September 7 to assess the diphtheria situation. The government said precautionary and public health measures have been implemented to contain reported cases of suspected diphtheria infection in some parts of the state.
