Haruna Darboe, a first-time father, watched as a health worker recorded his three-month-old daughter's weight before administering her routine vaccinations at Serekunda Health Centre in The Gambia. He expressed that seeing his baby receive vaccines gives him confidence that she is growing up with the protection she needs. His experience reflects a broader effort across The Gambia to ensure children receive life-saving vaccines, supported by Gavi. During a recent Gavi mission to the country, delegation members visited the health centre alongside officials from the Ministry of Health, WHO, UNICEF, and other partners to meet families and observe immunization efforts.
