Former West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has joined Watford on a one-year deal, returning to English football almost two years after suffering a broken leg in a life-threatening car crash. The 36-year-old joined as a free agent after training with the Championship club for the past month. Antonio's last senior appearance for West Ham came in December 2024 before the crash four days later. He spent 10 years at West Ham before leaving in June 2025 and later had a brief spell with Al-Sailiya.
