The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called for a thorough investigation into the killing of Kano-based public commentator Ibrahim Khalil Danshagamu. Danshagamu was fatally stabbed by unknown assailants who forced their way into his residence in Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area, on September 8, 2026. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital. NHRC Executive Secretary Chief Tony Ojukwu condemned the killing as a violation of the right to life and urged security agencies to identify the perpetrators, motive, and sponsors.
