The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has pledged to trace funds allocated to United States-supported HIV and tuberculosis intervention programmes in Nigeria following allegations of mismanagement and diversion. The EFCC stated it will investigate how the funds were used, identify beneficiaries, and determine if they were deployed for intended purposes. The commitment was made by ACE I Bawa Usman Kaltungo, Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC's Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, during a meeting with an FBI delegation led by Marcus Maccain, Assistant Law Enforcement Attaché. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in investigating financial irregularities.
