The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to dismiss a lawsuit filed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar against President Bola Tinubu. The suit accuses Tinubu of submitting forged certificates to support his qualification for the presidency. INEC, through its lawyer Dr. Alex Izinyon (SAN), argued that the action constitutes an abuse of the judicial process and that Atiku lacks the legal standing to file it. The commission also described the issues raised as hypothetical and academic.
