The Benue State Police Command has confirmed that four police officers were killed while repelling an attack by suspected armed bandits on Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area. The attack began around 6:12 pm on Thursday and lasted over seven hours. Seven civilian bodies were also recovered. According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Peter Aondongu, the attackers invaded in large numbers but were forced to retreat after a sustained gun battle with police operatives, including the Police Mobile Force and tactical teams.
