The Advocacy for Alleged Witches (AfAW) has petitioned the Benue State Police Command over the alleged killing of an elderly man, Ordue Ikye, said to be above 80 years old. The killing allegedly followed an accusation that he caused the death of a younger relative through witchcraft. The incident reportedly occurred at about 7pm last Sunday in Gbemacha Council Ward, Mbavior, Mbasar, Tse-Ikye, Gwer Local Government Area. AfAW, in a petition signed by its Director, Dr Leo Igwe, urged the Commissioner of Police to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ikye's death and bring anyone found culpable to justice.
