The Mohamed Tahar Maamouri University Hospital in Tunisia's Cap-Bon region serves as the only specialized orthopedic center for approximately one million people. In 2025, its orthopedic department conducted over 25,000 outpatient consultations and treated more than 4,500 inpatients. The department faces increased workload during summer months due to tourism-related population surges and a rise in trauma cases, particularly from traffic accidents. Insufficient C-arm equipment had caused surgical delays and added pressure on the department. In response, TİKA provided a modern surgical C-arm fluoroscopy system to enhance the hospital's orthopedic operating theatre capacity.
