2027: Ndigbo solidly behind Obi – Group tells APC

The Igbo Heroes and Icons Foundation has advised political parties, especially the All Progressives Congress (APC), not to expect significant votes from the South-East in the 2027 presidential election, asserting that many in the region support Peter Obi. The foundation's National Coordinator, Hon. Chinedu Nsofor, made this statement in response to First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu's recent appeal in Imo State for South-East voters to back President Bola Tinubu's re-election. Nsofor argued that now is the ideal time for Nigerians to support an Igbo president, describing Obi as a competent candidate who can address the country's economic and security challenges. He also acknowledged that no single individual or group can speak for all Igbo people.
