UNIZIK ASUU suspends strike over August salary

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its strike over the payment of incomplete August 2026 salary. The union members had withdrawn their services on September 7, 2026, vowing not to resume work until their full salaries were paid. In a statement on Friday, the branch Chairman, Comrade Innocent Nnubia, and Secretary, Comrade Osita Nnajiofor, said the complete August 2026 salary had been paid to all members. The union executives directed all members to resume their academic and administrative duties, including teaching, lectures, supervision, marking, committee meetings, and submission of results, with effect from Friday, September 11.
