Former Nigerian international Sylvanus Okpala has stated that Nigeria has nothing to fear ahead of the FIFA/NFF meeting in Abuja. He dismissed concerns about negative outcomes from FIFA's fact-finding mission, noting that the mass resignation of NFF board members and the General Secretary followed pressure from the football public. Okpala emphasized that Nigeria and FIFA share the goal of developing Nigerian football. Meanwhile, a players' body has kicked against unequal representation, insisting that state FA chairmen must not outnumber them.
