Onyema: Tinubu’s Intervention Will Save Nigeria’s Airlines

Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace Limited, stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's intervention will address the factors that led to Nigeria being designated by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as the worst place in the world to establish an airline business. Onyema expressed confidence that the financial crisis affecting airlines over the 5 percent Ticket Sales Charge will be resolved with the President's intervention. He spoke at the 30th annual conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents in Lagos, with the theme 'Towards a Sustainable Aviation Industry: Balancing Government Revenue Demands with Sector Growth'. He emphasized that an amicable tax and charges system would end the high mortality rate of Nigerian operators.
