In the modern world where materialism leads and drives human instincts, many people assume that a well-lived life lies in how wealthy, highly placed, or politically influential a person is. This is far from the truth about living a contented life, which makes the poor rich. Much of a man's discontentment on earth could be traced to expectations that are essentially selfish, and more often than not, unrealistic. David Bednar said, "A grateful person is rich in contentment. An ungrateful person suffers in the poverty of endless discontentment." Contentment is a sure pathway to Allah, meaning that a contented individual would seem to have arrived.
