With less than four months to the general polls in January 2027, the Nigerian political space must have degenerated to the nadir of betraying its susceptibility to the unlimited play-out of soullessness in politics. For many citizens, the context of any political leadership subscribing to the dictates of a soul may sound alien, yet just as it is incumbent for political leadership to subscribe to the dictates of rules and laws, so the concession by same leadership to the essence of basic humanity remains mandatory. Effective political leadership borders on a seamless interaction between the leaders and followers, where the bond between them is facilitated not just by laws and rules but also by a common humanity; hence the ethos in leadership.
