The Nigerian equities market closed the week negatively, with market capitalization declining by N1.96 trillion amid renewed sell-offs across selected counters and anticipation of the Dangote Refinery Initial Public Offering. The benchmark NGX All-Share Index fell by 1.60 percent week-on-week to close at 243,052.74 points, while market capitalization decreased to N157.587 trillion. Market breadth was firmly negative, with only nine gainers against 80 losers, reflecting subdued investor sentiment. Nigerian Exchange Group led the gainers with a 13.85 percent rise to close at N148.00 per share, followed by Ellah Lakes with a 13.33 percent gain to N10.20, and Seplat Energy with a 10.00 percent increase to N14,907.80 per share, while Fortis Global Insurance led the losers.
