Dr Bello Salman, a member of the Cotton, Textile and Garment Development Forum, has called on the Federal Government and development finance institutions to consider restructuring distressed textile and cotton factories before liquidation. He emphasized that recovering loans should not come at the expense of viable factories and dependent communities. Salman noted that factory collapse affects the entire production chain, from farmers to manufacturers. He urged creditors to first assess whether a distressed factory could return to profitable production.
