Charity founder says he secretly gave FTX fraud figure Caroline Ellison a job

Austin Chen, founder of the grantmaking platform Manifund, announced that he secretly hired Caroline Ellison, the former Alameda Research CEO who served prison time for her role in the FTX fraud case. Ellison, 31, will develop Manifund's platform and research how to effectively direct philanthropic dollars. Chen framed the hiring as a second chance, stating that Ellison has admitted her faults and worked to make creditors whole. Ellison had previously admitted to misusing FTX customer funds and testified against Sam Bankman-Fried.
