Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has revealed that he would not have married his wife, Simi, if their blood genotypes were incompatible. Speaking on the One54 Podcast, the music artist, who lives with sickle cell anaemia, explained that preventing his children from inheriting the condition was a non-negotiable priority that superseded romantic feelings. He disclosed that confirming Simi's AA genotype was his first action when they began dating, noting that her compatibility was the sole reason he pursued the relationship. Adekunle Gold also shared his ongoing health struggles, stating that despite access to quality medical care, he continues to experience severe joint and abdominal pain crises associated with the disease.
