UNIJOS Increases Intake Of Foreign Students

Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof Tanko Ishaya, has said the institution matriculated 75 international students from 20 African countries for the 2025/2026 academic session, building on previous enrollments of 67 students from 13 countries in the 2024/2025 session. Speaking during the re-launch of the varsity's Jos Alumni Centre, he said the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) named UNIJOS the top prize winner at the 6th National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit (NATAP-M) Awards in May 2026, awarding the university N500 million for having the highest number of international student admissions and strict adherence to guidelines. He described the university as a leading destination for international students in Nigeria through transparent admissions and robust academic reforms.
