WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup: Flamingos To Face Ghana In Group B Opener

Nigeria's Flamingos will begin their 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Championship campaign against arch-rivals Ghana's Black Maidens on Wednesday, September 16. The Group B clash is scheduled for the CKB Stadium in Côte d'Ivoire and will be a repeat of the 2024 final, when Ghana defeated Nigeria on penalties after the game ended 2-2 in regulation time. The Flamingos have been drawn in Group B alongside Ghana, Togo and Niger Republic, while hosts Côte d'Ivoire will compete in Group A alongside Burkina Faso and Benin Republic. The championship, which kicks off on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, will also serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 U-17 Girls Africa Cup of Nations.
