United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby prioritizes sleep and reading, sleeping eight and a half hours a night and reading about two books a week. He limits meetings to no more than four hours a day, often averaging less, to allow time for thinking. Kirby advises sending materials in advance and engaging in conversational discussions rather than slide presentations. He believes that as a CEO, the job is to think hard, not just work hard.
