A prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Musa Ayyuba Lukuwa, was stabbed at the end of Jumu'at prayers in Sokoto metropolis on Friday. The Sokoto State Police Command confirmed the attack, stating that the suspect stabbed Lukuwa in the stomach and was subsequently killed by an angry mob. One person was reported dead, and Lukuwa is receiving treatment at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital. No arrests have been made, and police have urged residents to remain calm.
