Middle East has no need for US ‘policeman’ – Iran

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the Middle East does not need the United States to act as a regional policeman. He made the remark during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of a BRICS summit in India. Pezeshkian emphasized that the region's territorial integrity and security should be guaranteed by its own countries. Iran has been at war since February 28, when US-Israeli strikes killed its supreme leader, and has since blockaded the Strait of Hormuz, vying with the US for control.
