Senator David Mark, National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, has mourned the passing of former Governor of old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. Mark described Tukur's death as a great loss to Nigeria, especially at a time when the country needs the wisdom and counsel of its older leaders. He noted that Tukur's contributions to Nigeria's political, administrative, and economic development spanned several decades, including his tenure as governor, minister, and later leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party. Mark added that Tukur was also an accomplished businessman and international figure.
