Manchester City's new captain Ruben Dias has said the club's summer signings are "desperate to win" and that the squad is "buying into the idea" of new manager Enzo Maresca. City spent a Premier League record £458m during the recent transfer window, bringing in players including midfielders Enzo Fernandez, Elliot Anderson, and Ayyoub Bouaddi. The club also recouped more than £300m in sales and lost experienced players such as 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri, former captain Bernardo Silva, and England international John Stones. Dias, who joined from Benfica for £65m in 2020, has been handed the armband by Maresca.
