Former civilian Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Bamanga Tukur, has died in Abuja after a protracted illness. He was 94. Tukur was the third civilian governor of the defunct Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He also served as Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority and President of the African Roundtable Business. Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri described his death as a loss to the state and the nation.
