‘Man of big ideas’ – Tinubu mourns elder statesman, Bamanga Tukur

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of elder statesman and former Governor of old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who died on Saturday at the age of 90. Tinubu described Tukur's passing as the end of a remarkable chapter in Nigeria's political and economic history. He noted that Tukur's distinguished career spanned public administration, governance, industry, politics, and pan-African business leadership. Tukur served as General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority from 1975 to 1982 and was elected governor of old Gongola State in 1983.
