Tinubu Mourns Elder Statesman, Bamanga Tukur

President Bola Tinubu has mourned the death of elder statesman and former Governor of old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, who died at the age of 90. Tinubu described Tukur's passing as the end of a remarkable chapter in Nigeria's political and economic history. He noted that Tukur was born on September 15, 1935, and rose to national prominence as General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority from 1975 to 1982, where he helped modernise port operations. The President's statement was issued on Saturday by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
