Several thousand people gathered on Saturday in Uganda to pay final respects to King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who was recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's youngest reigning monarch. He ascended to the throne at the age of three and reigned over the Tooro Kingdom for 31 years before dying recently at the age of 34 while receiving cancer treatment in the United States. At a burial ceremony at Saint John's Cathedral in Fort Portal, western Uganda, his sister Princess Ruth Komuntale described him as someone who had a gift to make people laugh. The president urged unity amid a fierce succession dispute, with the late king's mother charging that she and other members of the royal family had been put under effective house arrest.
