Nigeria’s largest listed companies owe N6.25 trillion as bank loans dominate borrowing

A Nairametrics review of 19 of the largest companies on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) 30 shows that they collectively owe N6.25 trillion. The companies continue to rely heavily on bank loans and other direct borrowings despite the growth of commercial papers and other debt securities. Bank loans dominate the borrowing structure of these major listed firms.
