The President of the ECOWAS Commission, General Birame Diop, received Ambassador Kalilou Traoré of Côte d'Ivoire on a courtesy visit. The meeting marked the first visit by a Member State Ambassador since General Diop assumed office on 31 August 2026. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to regional integration and discussed matters of mutual interest to the ECOWAS Community. The discussions emphasized sustained dialogue, close cooperation and regular consultations between the ECOWAS Commission and Member States to advance peace, stability, regional integration and sustainable development across West Africa.
