The Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NNGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Governor of the old Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. In a condolence message issued on behalf of his counterparts, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, who chairs the NNGF, described Tukur’s death as a profound loss to the North and the nation. Governor Yahaya noted that Tukur’s public service spanned more than six decades, during which he served as Chief Executive of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Governor of the old Gongola State, and Minister of Industries. The statement was signed by the governor’s spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli.
