Three years after his death on September 12, 2023, the remains of Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, remain unburied. Following intense public outcry, his body was exhumed in late September 2023 for a coroner's autopsy, but it has since remained in a Lagos mortuary due to procedural delays, legal wrangling over toxicology results, and unresolved family disputes over paternity and burial arrangements. What was intended to be a swift forensic investigation has become an agonizing stalemate, with his music still streaming globally while his body remains in limbo. Mohbad's wife, Wunmi Aloba, had hoped for resolution but has said the family, particularly Mohbad's father, is focused on taking over his son's property.
