Former Gombe commissioner dumps APC, backs Pantami

Hon. Muhammad Ismail City, a former Commissioner of the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress. He announced his defection and declared support for the Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspiration of Professor Isa Ali Pantami. City, a former Executive Chairman of Akko Local Government Area, formally endorsed Pantami during a meeting at the former minister's office on Saturday. He said his decision followed an assessment of the political situation in Gombe State and his conviction that the state required a leader with integrity, administrative competence and a clear vision for development.
