Bukola Saraki, former Kwara State governor and Senate President, remains a influential political figure in Kwara State. During his tenure as governor from 2003 to 2011, he initiated projects such as Shonga Farms and founded Kwara State University and the International Aviation College. As Senate President from 2015 to 2019, he oversaw the passage of the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Act and the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill, and published the National Assembly's budget breakdown for the first time. Despite a lengthy asset declaration case that was resolved in his favor by the Supreme Court in 2018, his political influence continues to be watched closely.
