The Presidency has halted a major sale of oil blocks held by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), known as Project Delta, since June. The delay is attributed to political negotiations ahead of the 2027 elections, with advisers reportedly pushing to favor certain companies. Leadership changes at NNPC, including the exits of Mele Kyari and Bayo Ojulari, have contributed to the stall. The program had been revived with additional blocks and an extended bid deadline, but now faces uncertainty.
