The Presidency has dismissed the high expectations surrounding Peter Obi's presidential bid, stating that governance is not achieved through magic. The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, criticized Obi's leadership record and suitability for higher office in a post on X. Onanuga argued that Obi's supporters expect him to perform a miracle at the national level despite his lack of governance pedigree as former Anambra State governor. The Presidency also criticized Atiku Abubakar's plan to subsidise crude for local refineries, saying the model failed under former President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration.
