The Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Bege Joseph Gaiya, has provided five new transformers to communities to improve electricity supply and stimulate rural economic activities. The intervention upgraded transformers in Narom and Mabuhu communities from 300KVA to 500KVA and from 200KVA to 500KVA, respectively. Three other communities—Afana, Ungwan Rana Ashafa, and Kurdan—are expected to receive new transformers soon. Gaiya said the upgrades were necessary because existing facilities were overstretched due to increased demand, and he also identified vandalism and theft of power equipment as challenges.
