The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Bamali, has launched an effort to protect the historic structure and promote environmental sustainability by planting trees along the city's ancient wall. The traditional ruler planted several trees around the ancient wall, which he sees as important for preserving the city's heritage while creating a healthier environment for residents. The Emir wants the community, especially young people, to take responsibility for protecting trees and other natural resources. According to him, the trees will provide shade, reduce the effects of heat and erosion, and improve the appearance of the historic site. Residents who participated in the exercise welcomed the initiative and promised to help care for the newly planted trees.
