Irvin Thevaranjan, a laid-off Grubhub worker, created a tracker to help fellow former employees find jobs after being blindsided by his own layoff in February 2025. The day before his layoff, he had received a stellar performance review from his boss, who told him he had many opportunities at the company. In the hours after losing his job, Thevaranjan began compiling a list of the hundreds of others who were laid off at Grubhub that day. Eighteen months later, recruiters are learning from the tracker, which has helped laid-off workers find jobs and recover from losing their roles.
