Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang gave direct advice to employees who were leaving the company to found startups. David Hoeller and Nikita Rudin, who worked on robotics at Nvidia and left in 2024 to found Flexion Robotics, hopped on a late-night call with Huang before departing. Huang did not try to talk them out of leaving, but he critiqued their startup's intended name, Checkpoint, telling them it was bad. Founders said the tough love stuck and they acted on his advice.
