Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has pledged to introduce a monthly living minimum wage of N500,000 for Nigerian workers if elected president in the 2027 general elections. He also promised that an AAC-led government would provide 24-hour electricity, free and accessible education at all levels, construct one million public mixed-income homes, and reform tenancy laws to reduce advance rent payments. In an interview with Independent, Sowore said the AAC's agenda is centred on "revolutionary justice and equal rights," arguing that Nigeria's resources have not improved living conditions for the majority of citizens.
